Helping a Yorkshire-owned business

F.A. Stockill and Son have been serving their community since 1927 as builders and funeral directors. They commissioned a website to help their clients who couldn’t visit their offices in person. However they needed someone to write web content that was informative but compassionate.

Solution

There was no existing website to draw from. Instead I talked to their knowledgeable staff about the process of arranging a funeral. They provided me with documents and links to official sources. I distilled this into a logical navigation structure. I also took quotes from their many thank you cards to act as testimonials.

Helen translated our industry jargon to ‘normal’ speak

“If you need an expert eye to make your web content attractive and drive traffic this lady is your go-to guru.

We found Helen to be trustworthy, effective, prompt and internet savvy. She translated our industry jargon to ‘normal’ speak with a high level of attention to detail – and of course grammar! We cannot thank and recommend her enough.”

Best in Show for me

To get the best traction in Google, web pages need to be at least 300 words long. But how can you do this when you’ve already covered what needs to be said about something like Funeral arrangements?

My solution was to add poems and lyrics from songs which could be used in a funeral service.
